Full Review:

Neil Nitin Mukesh’s first movie was a surprising hit, musical too, it was having a pacy music, which makes it to a good music score, Aa Dekhe zaraa is again a thriller so expectation are same kind of music. Also Bipasha is always having some good songs in her movies. Pritam is in air now a days, what ever movies he does he is creating or copying good music.

Title song “Aa Dekhen Zara”, created by Gaurav Das Gupta, which has it’s origin in Sanjay Dutt’s Rocky, the fast version is going to hit Dance floor, and will become popular. Second version is very different it really a wonderful remix all the way, a must listen. Sheershak Anand wrote this song and voice is of none another that Neil himself. Dibyendu Mukherjee impresses a lot with slow version.

“Gazab” have a feel of Jhonny Gaddar’s “Dub ja”, song is nice, lyrics suits the music, It’s a combination of western and Bhojpuri. Song is good. Sunidhi Chauhan and Shaan are good, Antra are better then Mukhda, little bit sounds like Vacancy.

“Rock The Party” is composed by Gaurav, and just OK song, not going to work, lyrics and vocals are OK.

“Power” it appears to be a narrative songs run in background, might look good in music, as per music its just a another song, nothing much to listen. Syed Gulrez and Prashant write ‘Power’. Dibyendu Mukherjee failed to make it to a rock song, though he was great in Aa Dekh Zaraa Lunge version.

Aakriti, once again with ‘Mohabbat Aapse’, delivers goods in romantic number, lyrics by Irshad Kamil are very good, music is OK, but vocals are very nice. The missing thing is melody in music.

Remix are good, both “power” and “gazab” remix deliver dance tracks.

On a whole its a good composition for a thriller, most of the songs might be presented in narration and background, Aa Dekhe Zaraa (Lounge Version) slow one is must listen.

Though there are not much details on the film and its crew, it is highly likely that the composer for the film is the new sensational composer Mithoon Sharma. Mithoon, just 23 years of age, happens to be the nephew of Pyarelal (Of Laxmikant-Pyarelal fame) and has already created a few amazing compositions for films like Anwar (Maula mere/ Javeda Zindagi), Zeher and the Train (Who Ajanabee).



If Mithoon has actually composed the tracks for Jai-Veeru, it will be wonderful news for Raja Hasan fans. It goes on to prove that Raja Hasan is not just getting offers from just one composer, but the tasks are arriving from others as well.

Deepak (Govinda) is a simpleton. He has been switching jobs as he does not want to succumb to the corrupt system. Since years, with unwavering efforts, financial hardships and an unshaken faith in the judicial systems, he has bee helping his father, Omkarnathji, in a legal matter.

Omkarnathji, the ex-principal of a private school, is fighting a court case against the school to get his due provident fund and pension. He later wins the case and the school is ordered to give a part of its property as compensation, if there is no money in its funds

And thus Deepak’s life gets an addition: a bus.Instead of selling it off, acting on his father’s advice, he decides to run the bus. While the rest of the family members - two sisters: Chhaya and Aprana (Upasana Singh and Amita Nangia) and their Ghar-Jamaaee husbands Vinayak Agrawal, a Lawyer (Mr. Asrani) and U.U. Upadhyay (Manoj Joshi) are against it. They feel it’s a low profile job. Their primary interest is in selling off the huge bus and devouring their share of property.But Deepak has immense trust in his father’s judgment. Sundar (Rajpal Yadav) a jolly good sweetheart, who is desperately trying for an American Visa, is also an age old friend. He comes in handy with initial investments and they establish a company, Chal Chala Chal transport.

The bus is in a dilapidated condition and much of money is gone for the repairs.

It’s a roller-coaster ride where mishaps are more than the commuters. The bus driver, Basantilal (Razak Khan) wears thick glasses and the conductor Harilal (Asif Basra) has a sugar factory in his mouth and an eye for cash… adding to it like a cherry on the triple-decker pastry- Sunder’s enmity with a rat which has eaten his passport.

Corruption chases Deepak in transport business as well U.U. Upadhyay is a chief vehicle inspector. He tried his level best to harass Deepak and extort money, raising troubles.

These workers are messing up Deepak’s life and business, but he can’t raise a finger against them, for they are under the cushioned wings of the Union Leader Mr. Singh (Murli Sharma).

They only relief should have been the lovely lady on the bus Payal (Reema Sen), but the bus hits her fracturing her leg. Now she is also in the vengeance mode, extorting money from Deepak.

What saves Deepak from these mad house characters, is his faith in his principals and his father’s love-acting as the strong backbone in bitter sweet times.

“Raaz - The Mystery Continues” although not a sequel to Mahesh Bhatt’s previous release, Raaz (starring Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu), yet deals with a similar subject of evil spirits and ghosts. Directed by Mohit Suri of Awarapan and Woh Lamhe fame, this supernatural thriller explores the evil side of human nature. The movie is about a brooding artist Prithvi (played by Emraan Hashmi), who experiences mysterious and distressing visions about Nandita (played by Bollywood’s bold babe Kangana Ranaut), a woman he has never met, although he paints her on the canvas. Intrigued by these visions, Prithvi tracks her down and warns her about the accidents that are waiting to happen.

Refusing to believe him at first, Nandita accepts the fact by witnessing the striking resemblance between Prithvi’s paintings and the near-death incidents in her life. The only way she can change her fate is to unravel this mystery, at the risk of alienating herself from her boyfriend, Yash (played by Adhyayan Suman, son of the famous actor and stand-up comedian Shekhar Suman.) Nandita then risks her love and her life to unravel this mystery. If the mere narration of the story scares you and gives you goose pimples, just imagine what I underwent watching it. Fantastically directed, the movie maintains the suspense right till the climax.

Music has always been a focal point of every Vishesh banner films. The music of “Raaz - The Mystery Continues” is also doing quite well. The songs of the movie reached the top of all the music charts. It is interesting to note that the songs have been sung by different singers, including reality show contestants, Toshi and Sharib. This is indeed appreciable, as we get to hear many voices that adds versatility to the music of the movie.

However, unlike its title Raaz (secret), the movie unfolded all the secrets behind the controversies surrounding its promotions. It used Kangana’s personal life ( Kangana’s affair with Adhyayan) as a publicity gimmick. This act of Bhatt’s created a rift between the producers and the actress, who then refused to take part in the promotion of the movie.

The movie also created a tiff between the producers of the film and the censor board on the issuance of the U/A certification, owing to Kangana’s nude scene in the movie. While the censor board wanted to issue the A certificate for the movie, the producers of the film demanded for a U/A certificate. The actress denied of having done any such scene in the movie. However, the actress admitted to the censor board’s objection to the horror elements of the film. After watching the movie, I can say one thing that Kangana has really done some bold scenes in this movie.

Inspired by Indian myths and legend and focusing on the relationship between good and evil, the movie can be a real dose of entertainment for all those who want to experience some real thrill and excitement.

Chandni Chowk to China

If you are looking for intellectual stimulation at the movies, watch Clint Eastwood’s “Changeling” or wait for “Slumdog Millionaire” — “Chandni Chowk to China” is definitely not what you are looking for. It’s the first big release of the year, is produced by a big Hollywood studio looking to enter the Indian market and has one of India’s most bankable stars. But it also has a lot of Bollywood “formula”. Now whether you like this film or not depends on whether you like the “formula”. Do you like the twins separating-at-birth-and-meeting-20-years-later formula? Or perhaps the I-will-avenge-my-father’s-death formula? Take your pick because “Chandni Chowk to China” has taken each and every cliché from Hindi cinema of the 70s and 80s and repackaged it. Akshay Kumar plays Sidhu, a simpleton cook in Delhi’s famed Chandni Chowk, who fumbles his way through life and is waiting for the stroke of luck that will change his life. Through a chance encounter possible only in Hindi cinema, he meets two natives of China. They are convinced Sidhu is the reincarnation of the ancient warrior Liu Sheng, who will rescue them from the clutches of evil villain Hojo. Somewhere along the way we also learn of Inspector Chang, whose family was separated because of Hojo. Chang’s twin daughters, Sakhi and Suzie (played by Deepika Padukone) are separated while he loses his memory. To attempt to explain the story beyond this point is difficult, because the plot gets too convoluted and loses itself at many places. Except for the 20 minutes in the second half, where Chang is training Akshay in the art of kung fu, the rest of the movie is one chaotic scene. But “Chandni Chowk to China” is unabashed about this chaos. It seems to be saying — this is how we like our movies and this is how we will make them. Who cares about a coherent plot line when you have Akshay Kumar performing stunts and singing mid-air with Deepika Padukone? Like it or not, this is Bollywood formula at its best or worst, whichever way you look at it.
