After 'Chamku', Bobby Deol will be seen in another action thriller, namely 'Ek - The Power of One'. The film has been directed by Sangeeth Sivan and has Jaswant Khera as the producer. The star cast includes Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Sachin Khedekar, Shreya Sharan, Chunkey Pandey, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sanjay Mishra, Jaspal Bhatti, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Zarina Wahab and Upasna Singh. The film will be released on 27th March 2009, under the banner of 'K. Sera Sera Productions'.
The story of 'Ek - The Power of One' is centered around Nandu (Bobby Deol), who was born without a father by his side and lost his mother at the time of his birth. The harsh realities of an orphan's life turned him into a criminal, alien to the feelings of love, compassion and humanity. With his first kill recorded at 9 years of age, he is hired by the country's opposition leader Bhushan Purohit, for an assassination attempt on the latter's life. The aim is to create sympathy wave and win the election, tiding over it.
On the day of the attempt, someone shoots at Bhushan, before Nandu, killing him on the spot. As the police surrounds the area, it zeroes-in on Nandu, but he manages to make an escape aboard a running train. Here, he comes across Shekhar, who is going back to his house after 14 years, on his cousin's marriage. A run-away, Shekhar is returning after realizing that his grandfather is still waiting for him, taking back the latter's watch that he had taken away with him. The police catches up with Nandu at a station.
As a police officer aims at Nandu, Shekhar comes in-between and gets killed. Nandu manages to escape once again and goes to Shekhar's house, where he is mistaken for the latter. He is welcomed by the entire family, including Preet (Shreya Saran). Preet is the daughter of Shekhar's grandfather's best friend Arvind. On the death of Arvind, she moved in with the family and has practically grown up there. Beautiful, vivacious and full of life, she falls for Nandu the moment she sees him, believing him to be Shekhar.
Unable to clear the family's misconception and breaking their heart, he starts living the false identity. He also develops strong attachment with Shekhar's grandfather and his elder bhua, whose daughter is about to get married. Living in a family full of love and care, he realizes what he missed out on, in his life. As Preet tries to woo him, he cannot help but fall in love with her. At the same time, he tries to help the family members out of their problems. Somewhere along the way, he begins to soften and starts developing emotions.
Unknown to Nandu, Nandkumar Rane (Nana Patekar), a special officer from the CBI, has been given the responsibility of tracking him down. The cunning inspector is a huge threat to Nandu and his life. In the end, he manages to trace down Nandu to Shekhar's village and meets him as well. What will happen now? Will Nandu be convicted of a crime he did not commit? Will Shekhar's family know the truth about him? What will happen to Nandu and Preet's love story? The questions will be answered on 27th March, the movie's
